Hi Luigi,
At the moment, we use OpenStreetMap as the sole source for hiking trails in Italy. From both a licensing and technical perspective, combining trail network data from multiple sources is not entirely straightforward.
As far as I know, CAI / REI data is also being added to OpenStreetMap. One advantage of OSM is that, in addition to CAI-marked trails, it also includes other marked trails maintained by different organisations or local groups.
Thank you very much for your message and for raising this point. We will definitely review the metadata related to hiking trails, such as difficulty levels and maintenance status, to better understand how much of this information we currently use and whether we could make better use of it in the future.
We update the data on the web roughly every two weeks, and in the app approximately every two months. Our goal for the coming months is to align the update frequency so that both the web and the app are updated approximately every two weeks.
If you have any further ideas regarding trail data, other types of data, or Mapy.com in general, we would be very grateful for your feedback. Ideally, please contact us directly through the app via Tools → Something went wrong → Others. This allows us to communicate with you directly and makes it easier to follow up on specific suggestions.
Thank you again, and have a great day.
James
