How to disable automatic route planner to enable free route / segment drawing
-
After following an automatic planned mountain bike route, there is a segment I should modify because it cannot be used/followed any more. I've found the alternative way, but cannot correct it on the map due to it isn't accept the waypoints I've moved and not willing to create the bypass, don't modify the route, even if the next waypoints and the END point is deleted.
Please help how it is possible to create / edit a route segment by free drawing or make the moved waypoints accepted anywhere.
Thanks! -
In the bottom right corner of the map, please use the button:
Tools > Distance and area measurement – this allows you to manually draw a path anywhere you want. This manually created route can be exported as a GPX file. You can report map issues using:
Tools > Mistake on a map – there you can manually mark the part of the map that needs to be corrected, and you can also attach a GPX file with the correct route. -

Thanks a lot, it's really a good trick to manually drow a path! I've exported it to GPX, then import back to create a route. As I see the navigation doesn't working in this case, but no problem, I can follow this route or segment on the map easily.
I've found more articles on the internet which mentions the possibility of switching off the automatic route planner to draw a path manually anywhere, but looks like it isn't exist.
Thanks again for your help! -
From your original message, it sounded like you wanted to correct the map data.
If you’re trying to navigate off marked trails, unfortunately that’s not yet possible in Mapy.com.But if you’re fine with just following a GPX track, which can lead anywhere (it will appear as a red line in Mapy.com, with your position shown as a blue dot above it), then you can create a GPX track in an external editor – take a look here.
The website linked there lets you combine route planning with manual drawing, and it uses the same map data as Mapy.com. You can either just fix the problematic section or plan the whole thing there and then import the GPX track back into Mapy.com. -
Yes, I guess it's enough and absolutely usable for me to follow the "red line" on the map (created by your guidance, with the distance measurement tool).
Anyway, I'll also check the external editor website, but the main thing is that you solved my problem to manually correct a path/segment if it's necessary.
Thank you Jan, have fun to follow new routes!
