Screen dimming is great and has side effects

just stumbled upon the new screen dimming feature and it works great. Does actually help with my battery.
This has an interesting side effect. I used to enjoy following the route very detailed and looked constantly on my phone. Now, with screen dimming I see much more of the scenery around me. This ist brilliant.Having said all that, the dimming is a bit aggressive. Maybe make this a variable setting, so I can set it to turn off after 2 or or 20 or 30sec and also when to turn on .
