map cache does not refresh correctly

I've used mapy on both iPhone and android, both with the same issue. This occurs anytime i am hiking or trail running in an area with spotty inconsistent cell service, which is common in many parts of the USA.
I will start the hike with a perfectly loaded map and offline map saved. However, anytime my phone connects to the internet, the app will try to refresh the map/cache, delete whats already there, and then be unable to load a new map because the connection is poor.

The app is too aggressive with refreshing the map cache and I end up hiking with a blank map. Please either fix this or add an option to force the app to stay offline or too only use the preloaded cache. I would buy a subscription if this was fixed!

@J-L Someone might find it strange that you don’t simply turn off mobile data, but it’s easy to imagine a situation where it’s really important at that moment to, eg. receive an important message from someone via an chat app while also needing to use a map. I support the idea of introducing some way to manually refresh and disable automatic updates, or perhaps simply adding an option in the settings to “do not refresh the map when connected to the internet.”

@Heliosophist yes exactly. There should be no need to disable mobile data. I still want to send text messages and make calls when I can. Most other map apps don't have this issue. Mapy would be #1 for me because I love the speed and the way it formats OSM trails. Right now, it's basically unusable outside of route planning at home.
