Estimated time of arrival / route planning problem
-
Hi, today I took a motorcycle ride through the mountains. I chose the route based on the estimated arrival times provided by Mapy. In Italy and many other countries, mountain roads don't have specific speed limits, so the default limit is 70/90 km/h, even though the road obviously doesn't allow it. On today's ride, I arrived at my destination over an hour after my estimated arrival time (it took me two hours to get there instead of one).
You should implement a function that looks at the average speed of cars on those roads and uses that speed when calculating routes and destination times, not counting speed limits only.
Thanks for your attention; Mapy is a fantastic project, and I want it to be excellent in every way.

For selected countries, statistical average speeds and, in some cases, real-time traffic are already applied. This naturally depends on the amount of data we have been able to collect in a given area.
For the rest of the world, only predefined (table-based) speeds are currently used.Selected countries with statistical speeds:
- Czechia
- Slovakia
- Poland
- Germany
- Austria
- Italy
- Hungary
- Slovenia
- Croatia
