Community Photos to appear along Route Lines!
-
When planning routes it would be great if you implemented in the app route image views shared by users so we could quickly preview what to expect along any route.
I know that mapy.com is busy trying to be an app for everything, but you seem to be doing your best when it comes to cycling and hiking... -
@Adam-Stormguard Hi, you can use this feature on the web version of Mapy.com:
When you click the “Switch map” button, there is an option to enable photos on the outdoor map. Then you’ll see photos from other users.
Unfortunately, this feature is not available in the mobile app (Android and iOS) due to map readability.
Give it a try and let me know if it’s what you’re looking for.

@Ewelina Yes, I know the web version has this option, and you can access it in a browser on your phone.

I'm just surprised you can't seem to migrate the web version to the app 1:1.
It's your app, not the web version, that makes the difference, and I think about 80% of users only use the app.
If anyone wants to play around with the web version, they have Komoot or Open Street Maps .. -
@Adam-Stormguard I agree with you—we’ve considered this. The challenge is that the screen in the app is much smaller compared to a PC, so features can’t simply be copied over. We’re concerned that displaying all those photos would make the map too cluttered and hard to read.

@Ewelina I can't agree with you on this one.. We are in 2026 and most mobiles got <7" screens so that wouldn't be a big .issue..
Anyway these are just options you can turn ON/OFF so there's always a choice if you want a simplified version you turn them OFF and if more advanced you turn them ON.
Have a go and release it in beta version so users can express their opinions..
Have a great day.

@Ewelina I I was just thinking that you could add an option to only take route photos and show them during route planning instead of all those irrelevant photos?
-
@Adam-Stormguard That’s a nice idea. Thanks for sharing it! It would definitely make things clearer and less distracting. I’ll pass this on to the team for consideration.
