Facebook fanpages
-
There are currently two official (?) fanpages Mapy.com and Mapy.com Global. I propose that there should be only one Mapy.com because:
a) it has a massive audience built up, which is better not to break up;
b) posts aimed at the Czech audience on Mapy.com's fp, are also of interest to people outside the Czech Republic, and such posts, which are about features available only in Czechia, I believe are not to be on Mapy.com Global, I think this is a mistake.
However, if you, as developers, decide to run both fanpages, I would ask that both of them be exactly with the same posts only in other languages. Only then it makes sense. -
Hi @dronemarch,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful message and for taking the time to share your perspective – it’s Pája here from the Mapy.com team.You’re absolutely right to raise the question, and we really appreciate your feedback. We’re currently working on gradually adding more English-language content to our page https://www.facebook.com/mapycom/, aiming to make it more universal and accessible for a broader audience. In the future, you’ll start to see more posts – especially screenshots and videos – showing the app in its English version.
That said, please don’t worry about missing out on important updates if you’re not following the Facebook page. Inside the mobile app itself, we regularly publish a “What’s New” window with every version update. This section is shown directly in your app and is automatically translated according to your language settings – so you’ll always have the latest news right where you need it most.
Thanks again for your kind attention and support. We're really happy to have users like you helping us shape things for the better!
Warm regards,
Pája, Mapy.com Team -
@Pavla-Bartošíková Ad "aiming to make it more universal and accessible for a broader audience" I was not convinced, but nevertheless the automatic translation on FB works correctly and smoothly. So I think we don't need another fanpage, because the one run in Czech users can with one click translate to the default language they have FB set in. My point is also that I find it tiresome to rummage through hundreds of fan pages that interest me, just because creators specialise/atomise their work in separate FPs.
But that's my perspective, I don't know much about social media and customer relations, so I believe the decision is an informed one.
Thanks for answer Pája.
