Fast route
-
Hi Mapy Team!
I would like to know what is the logic behind 'Fast route planning' in the Mapy app i.e. why it selects certain roads but avoid others?
-
@csaba-vartik Hello,
Thank you for your question.
The Fast route option primarily takes travel time into account. The routing algorithm selects roads that are expected to get you to your destination as quickly as possible, which means it may sometimes prefer a longer route if the estimated travel time is shorter.
If you have a specific example where the chosen route seems unusual, please send us the start and destination points or even better, a link to the route in Mapy, and a screenshot, and we'll be happy to take a closer look. -
@Ewelina Hi,
Here is an example, it writes 3 minutes for 1.4 km with car:

And for the experiment, here is the same two points with 'shortest route' planning. It writes 3 minutes for 906 meters with car. By the way, this must be calculated with a very slow car.
