GPX file imported, now what?
-
I'm new to mapy. I have imported a gpx file and saved it.
The route and the waypoints are now all as separate entities in the Saved folder.
I find it it a bit strange that it's not one item but that's not my main issue.My real question is How can I use this route in mapy?
What I would like is to have the route visible on the map, while my position is kept centred and preferably the ride direction is kept on top. I do not need turn by turn navigation instructions.Is this possible? If so, how? If not, what's the use of stored routes then?

@mahkitah Thanks for your question!
At the moment, it isn't possible to navigate directly along an imported GPX track. However, you can display the track on the map, turn on GPS, and follow your current position while keeping an eye on the route. Many users use it this way when they don't need turn-by-turn navigation.
Thank you for your feedback—we understand why this would be useful and will pass it on to the team.

Saved tracks are synchronized to the mobile app. There you can open them by going to My Maps, finding the track in the appropriate folder, and tapping it. The track will be displayed on the map as a red line.
At the same time, your current position is shown as a blue dot. If you tap the location button (the blue dot icon) once, the map will automatically keep your position centered. If you tap it a second time, the map will rotate according to your direction of travel.
So yes, it is possible to follow a stored track on the map without turn-by-turn navigation.
If you need turn-by-turn navigation along the track, you can use the procedure described here.
However, for hiking and cycling, the method described above is often very convenient and works well.

As for the points stored in the GPX file as separate waypoints (<wpt>), these are indeed imported into Mapy.com as individual saved items and are not linked to the track in any way.
The only way to display them is to save them in the same folder and enable "Show permanently on the map" for that folder.

Thanks for the answers.
Tapping the button to keep it centred was the information I was missing.
